Note: My ordination does not allow me to officiate a marriage that resulted from an extramarital affair, in which one or both persons divorced their spouses in order to marry one another.
I consider it an honor to use my credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as an ordained minister to help you begin your marriage well—from quality premarital counseling to a ceremony that is professional, personal, and memorable. Having officiated weddings for twenty-five years, I regard these first steps as significant to a couple’s happiness, and to the happiness of the children born to them.
For premarital counseling, couples prepare for our first session by completing LifeInnovation's well-respected relationship tool—Prepare-Enrich. Couples also complete the KTS-II Temperament Sorter. Together, these provide helpful insight for our sessions together.
Couples are also given complimentary passes to The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work—a seminar I lead almost monthly for The Gottman Institute (Seattle). See EventBrite.com for currently-scheduled dates.
With regard to your wedding ceremony, I believe that the seriousness of the marriage commitment is compatible with an atmosphere of joy and celebration, and I strive for both, working with you toward a ceremony that is a the special memory it should be.
